Take Finax 1mg Tablet as advised by your doctor. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
Take one tablet daily, preferably at the same time each day. Follow your doctor's instructions and do not exceed the recommended dosage.
If you miss a dose of Finax 1mg, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it’s close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed tablet. Consistent daily use is essential for optimal results in managing hair loss. Always consult your doctor for specific advice regarding missed doses.
Long-term use of Finax tablets may cause potential side effects, such as decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, or depression, may persist or appear over time.
Regular follow-ups with a doctor are essential to monitor your health and assess continued suitability.
Long-term benefits, like sustained hair regrowth and reduced hair loss, can be seen with consistent use, but stopping the medication may reverse results.
Studies suggest that prolonged use of finasteride may be associated with health risks, including non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), dry eye disease, and potential kidney issues.
Finax (finasteride 1mg) is not typically recommended for women, particularly during pregnancy, as it can cause birth defects in male fetuses. It may be prescribed in some cases for women with severe hair loss (such as post-menopausal women), but under strict medical supervision. Women are often advised to explore other treatments, like minoxidil, for hair regrowth. Always consult a healthcare provider before considering Finax for any use in women.

The most common side effects of Proscar include a decreased interest in sexual intercourse, inability to have or keep an erection, or a loss in sexual ability, desire, drive or performance. Talk to your doctor or a healthcare professional if symptoms persist or are severe.
You should contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms:
While rare, these symptoms require immediate medical attention. This is not a complete list of side effects associated with finasteride. Studies have shown that finasteride can increase your risk of developing breast cancer or high-grade prostate cancer, which spreads and grows more rapidly than other types of prostate cancer.
Studies have also shown that Proscar can affect the results of the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test, which may be used to detect prostate cancer. Be sure to tell your healthcare provider that you are taking finasteride so that they are aware of any medication interference with PSA testing.
Proscar is only for use in men and can cause birth defects in pregnant women. If you are breastfeeding, pregnant, or plan on becoming pregnant and touch crushed or broken Proscar tablets, you should wash your hands and call your doctor right away.
Read More About Our Finasteride Tablet Pills and How to Use ItProscar tablets work by inhibiting the action of an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase, which converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is involved in the development of testes and prostate cancer in men.
Proscar tablets also affect the levels of DHT in the body, which can lead to a variety of symptoms, including decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, and increase in the level of prostate-specific antigen (PSA). If you are taking Proscar and have been diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), your doctor may prescribe a lower dose of Proscar, such as 5mg or 10mg, to help you achieve better results. BPH is the medical term for an enlarged prostate.

When you are prescribed Proscar tablets, you may experience:
BPH is a condition that affects men and can lead to sexual dysfunction and urinary problems. BPH can be caused by a variety of factors, including:
BPH can occur naturally or in hormone replacement therapy. BPH can also occur naturally or in hormone replacement therapy- a condition where the body is unable to convert testosterone into DHT.
If you are a man or a woman who is at increased risk for developing BPH, your doctor may prescribe a lower dose of Proscar, such as 5mg or 10mg, to help you achieve better results. BPH can occur naturally or in hormone replacement therapy- a condition where the body is unable to convert testosterone to DHT.
While there are no documented cases of Proscar affecting the prostate, there are a few case studies of women who were treated with finasteride.
Inhibition of prostatic hypertrophy by proscar has been demonstrated in vitro and in vivo. However, the inhibition of prostatic hypertrophy by proscar has been reported in vivo only in animal models. Proscar was evaluated in an in vivo model in mice by measuring prostatic pressure and urinary pH. Administration of the drug caused a significant reduction in prostatic pressure and urinary pH, and this reduction was dose- and time- dependent. Pharmacokinetic studies indicated that the administration of a small dose of proscar in a daily regimen reduced prostatic pressure to a level similar to the daily treatment of normal male volunteers. In addition, administration of the drug did not affect prostatic pressure, urinary pH or prostatic pressure in normal men. In this study, proscar treatment in rats increased prostatic pressure to a level similar to that observed in humans.

Prostate hypertrophy is defined as the presence of an overactive bladder (OB). While it can cause a significant decrease in urine flow and frequency, the effects of prostatic hypertrophy on the bladder itself have been the subject of controversy. The clinical significance of the increased risk of urinary tract infection and urinary retention is still unclear. Proscar (finasteride), an oral medication for the treatment of enlarged prostates, has been shown to reduce prostatic pressure in animal models and to decrease the urinary excretion of drugs that impair prostatic function. Although the exact mechanism of action of proscar has not been fully understood, it has been demonstrated that it interferes with the enzyme type II 5-alpha reductase, which converts the 5-alpha reductase inhibitor to its active form. This reduction in prostatic pressure can be dose- and time- dependent. Proscar is an orally administered 5-alpha reductase inhibitor that has been demonstrated to reduce prostatic pressure by 50% in healthy male rats [, ].
Although these studies have primarily focused on the reduction of prostatic pressure and urinary pH, the use of these parameters in an in vivo setting has been limited to animal models of enlarged prostates. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine whether or not proscar treatment reduces prostatic pressure and urinary pH in rats. Proscar was administered to male Wistar albino rats in a daily regimen in order to study the effect of proscar treatment on the function of the bladder, urinary pH and prostatic pressure.
The study was conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the Canadian Association of Research Animal Care, Animals Directive and the guidelines of the Animal Care Committee of the University of retentive pharmacy.

RefreshFinasteride is used to treat men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and male pattern hair loss, also called androgenetic alopecia. BPH is caused by an enlarged prostate. Men with BPH usually have difficulty urinating, a decreased flow of urination, hesitation at the beginning of urination, and a need to get up at night to urinate. Finasteride will make these symptoms less severe and reduce the chance that prostate surgery will be needed. It may be used alone or in combination with other medicines such as an alpha-blocker to treat BPH. For men with hair loss, finasteride will increase the number of scalp hairs but will not increase the amount of body hair.
Finasteride blocks the action of an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase. This enzyme changes testosterone to another hormone that causes the prostate to grow or hair loss in males. It will increase testosterone levels in the body, which decreases prostate size and increases hair growth on the scalp. The effect of finasteride on the prostate and scalp will only last as long as the medicine is taken. When it is stopped, the prostate begins to grow again and the hair will be lost.
